Predicament of Supporting the Aged in the Rural Areas of Hebei Province

ABSTRACT: In the winter of 2008, the author investigated L village in Hebei Province and obtained a set of individual information about the difficulties in supporting the aged. The current difficulties and emergent problems in the ways of supporting the aged in the rural areas were surveyed and analyzed qualitatively. It showed that the senectitude lives of the swinked peasants are not optimistic in rural areas with the major style of family supporting in the current richer time. The difficulties are not only the lack of consumer goods but loneliness.

河北农村养老困境初步调查报告

摘要：本文利用笔者于2008年冬赴河北省L村获得的个案资料，用定性研究的方法，对当前农村养老方式中存在的困境及亟待解决的问题进行了调查和分析。结果表明，在经济发展的今天，依靠家庭养老为主要方式的中国农村，辛劳一生的农民，晚年生活不容乐观。农村养老的困境，不仅表现在老人们物质条件上的匮乏，也表现在他们精神生活中的孤独。
