Folk custom of the Shangsi Festival in Wuxi

ABSTRACT: The Shangsi Festival on March 3rd, also known as the Spring Purification Festival, is one of the most important traditional festivals of Chinese. It is also an important part of the profound cultural heritage and traditional folk customs in Wu area. However, during the development of the society, relations among the people in the area are thinner and thinner beyond retrieve. The tradition of the Shangsi Festival in Wuxi, along with many other non-material cultural heritages, is facing challenges as well as opportunities for survival in different ways.

无锡民俗“三月三”

摘要:三月三上巳节是最能集中彰显江南吴地深厚文化底蕴、展现吴风民俗的民间传统节日之一,保存了较多的传统文化特色和民间习俗,已成为吴文化鲜活有续传承的载体和平台。随着时代的变迁和社会的发展,地缘和人脉都发生着不可回溯的变化,此类非物质文化遗产在无锡正面临着新的机遇和挑战,也在寻求新的生存方式。
