 Yearning for Professor Qinghua XU, the researcher of Lufengpithecus

ABSTRACT: Professor Qinghua XU (1933-2010) had a poor life in Shanghai when he was young. After liberation, he got chance of education and later entered Department of Anthropology at Fudan University in 1957. After graduation, he was allocated to Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, to study the palaeoanthropology in China. I was fortunate to be his schoolmate and work partner, and found that he loved the country, was enthusiastic to help the others, and worked very hard. His team discovered and studied the Lufengpithecus and Baoshanpithecus. In the last several years of his life, he finished writing the book Lufengpithecus, although in heavy stomachic disease. The life of Professor Xu was a practice of the dedication spirit of Fudan.

怀念禄丰古猿研究者徐庆华教授

摘要：徐庆华教授(1933-2010)，从小生活于旧上海的底层社会，解放后得到了受教育机会，1957年考入了复旦大学人类学专业。大学毕业后分配到了中国科学院古脊椎动物与古人类研究所，从事古人类学研究。笔者有幸成为他的同窗和同事，体会到了他热爱祖国、热心助人、勤奋工作。他领导的小组发现和深入研究了禄丰古猿和保山古猿化石。在生命的最后几年中，徐庆华抱着重病，完成了《禄丰古猿》的专著。徐庆华教授以一生的经历实践了复旦的“牺牲精神”。
