 Association between Chinese haplotypes and classification of Chinese dialects

Abstract: What we concerned at first is whether the distribution of the languages and dialects in China overlaps with that of the population genetic diversity. Is there any correlation? Judging from our investigation of the dialects and the population genetic structures in the northwestern China, we can say there is correlation. Therefore, our future collaboration will focus on the cross-disciplinary studies between population genetics and linguistics.

摘要：我们最初的问题是，中国境内各语言和方言的分布和人群的遗传多态性分布有无重合，有无相关性。从我们对西北方言的调查和西北地区群体遗传学研究成果及初步掌握的数据材料来看，相关性是肯定的。怎样进一步结合群体遗传学和语言学进行跨学科研究是我们未来的共同目标。
